We may be off the hook this year because due to the lockdown and gathering restrictions there are probably less holiday parties than usual. But like I always say, a few bad meals does not harm your healthy way of eating.

Winner, Winner, Turkey Dinner ðŸĪĪ

One down and one to go! 

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. The holidays can be rough on the food plan but don't worry about it. Remember, health is all about what you do on a regular basis, not what you do occasionally. 

Hopefully you have found a great gym or have created a way to workout at home. Currently, there are several gyms still open but all workouts are outside only. 

Setting up a little gym at home is easy. All you need is a squat rack, a bench, a pull down machine, olympic bar and some weights. Your initial investment may be expensive but at least you will always have a way to do your workouts. 

Your spine needs your time and attention as well. If you want to stay mobile, flexible, and active as you age, you must keep your spine healthy.

Smooth Sailing ⛵

When you eat food that is dense in nutrition, you don't need much to keep your body healthy and satisfied. The food that I eat and recommend in the Chiropractic Lifestyle is the best food to keep your body functioning at an optimal level. 

Another great thing about eating nutritionally dense food is that your body is satisfied and not hungry for many hours. After my last meal at around 1pm, I don't even start feeling hungry until the next day. Some people ask me how can I not eat "dinner"? The truth is, I'm just simply not hungry! 

I think when your body feels hungry then you are not giving your body enough nutrients. Hunger is the bodies way to tell the brain to eat because you are deficient. Unfortunately, most people try to feed the hunger with food that is lacking real nutrition. So soon after a person eats that person is hungry again. 

You will find that when you eat the food I recommend, and in the right quantities, you will be satisfied for many hours. If you are eating all the right food but still feel hungry then increase the amount until you find out what your body wants. When you are in tune with your body you will understand what it needs.

I wonder how the holidays are going to be this year? Do you think people are going to be getting together like they usually do?

Breath of Fresh Air 🌅

It feels nice to be able to breathe again!

But please do not give up on your health 🙏 Your health is the most important thing that you have. Without your health you can't work, be there for your family or do anything. 

Unfortunately, health is the one thing money can't buy. Once you lose it, it's gone. Life is too short as it is. Don't waste your life by letting your health go. It's real easy making excuses to be lazy or eat horrible food because of the environment we are currently in. You have to hold strong and never give up! Keep up your routine, you can do this!

Beware of the Air ðŸ’Ļ☢️☠️

I hope everyone is breathing okay in all this smokey air! The best thing to do is just stay indoors with an air purifier. When the air quality is this bad it can do some serious damage to your lungs. 

I'm so happy the gyms are open again! Now is the the time to get back into your exercise routine if you haven't already. I think the best time to work out is first thing in the morning. The gyms are usually relatively empty and it's better for your body to workout on an empty stomach. Some people think that if they take something before weight training, like a "pre-workout" drink, then they will perform better. This is not true. Your body will function just fine without any supplements or food before your workout. I've experimented with this many times and I've actually been stronger on an empty stomach. 

The food plan is still going strong. Eating your carbs separate from your fats is the way to go. You actually don't have to eat any carbs at all, but I do after I workout in the morning to help replenish my glycogen storages. It works for me but maybe not for you. You have to see how your body responds.
