Spring into Health ☀️

I hope everyone had a wonderful week! The sun is back and it looks like spring as sprung. Be careful on April 1st, there are a lot of pranksters out there.

My food plan is going strong and I’m getting leaner and maintaining my muscle. I’ve been doing cardio everyday in the morning before weight training, and it’s been working out great. My cardio isn’t that hard, I just go at a nice easy pace for 30 minutes on the elliptical. I barely break a sweat and I have plenty of energy left over to do my weight training.

I have spaced out my weight training routine so that I train one muscle per day and rotate every 5 days. I’m also doing more reps and sets, experimenting with this to see how the results are in respect to hypertrophy.

Remember to regularly change up your work out routines to find what works best for you.

Chilly Willy 🏔️

I can’t believe how cold the weather has been! It’s usually never this cold this time of the year in California. I heard some other states have been getting colder than normal temperatures as well.

The food plan is going great and the workouts are better than ever! I’m definitely leading by example and showing how it’s done.

Ever since the time change, I’ve noticed the gym has thinned out a bit in the morning. I love it because I don’t have to wait forever to get on my favorite exercise machine.

The thing about the Irish, is that they keep fighting in the face of adversity. This may be debatable, but when the Irish first migrated to America, they were the first slaves that were used and abused by men in America at the time. 

The Irish sure have come a long way in America. And many people have no idea what they Irish immigrants went through when they first arrived in America.

Everyone goes through struggles but the true judge of character is how one preservers and comes out successful.

Pump Up The Jams 💊🏞

All the gyms are finally open indoor and outdoor. I hope it stays that way! 🙏

I’m loving my new food plan too. I’m definitely losing the COVID “19”, which is the 19lbs you gain from sitting on the couch all day from being on lockdown.

Now that gyms are open, my work out routines are coming togetheras well. I’m doing a 5-day split now. Each day I do one muscle group: chest, back, shoulders, arms, and legs. This actually gives my muscles 5 days of rest in-between exercises and I’m still getting in 2 days of exercises for each muscle group.

Experimentation with your exercise routine helps you figure out the best frequency, intensity and duration. However, just like with the food plan, you have to stick with the routine to see and experience the results.

Run, Forrest, Run! 🏃

Long days and warm nights are almost upon us. Soon, we will all be at the beach on the weekends, loving life, and living the dream.

I’m keeping up with my cardio routine every morning, and I do my weight training right after. Except on leg days, I will still do my cardio in the morning on leg days, but then I go to a different gym in the evening to do my leg training.

I do this for two reasons. For one, I don’t like to do heavy leg training in the freezing cold, since we all have to do our exercises outdoors now. And for two, I like the squat rack much better at this other gym I’m a member of.

Yes, that’s right, in this day and age you have to have two gym memberships, so when one gym closes you have your back up gym you can still go to. Unfortunately, I don’t have space where I live to have a home gym, so I have to depend on steel city.

I can’t wait for the gyms all to be open all the time like they used to be. You really don’t know how good you have it until all the gyms close down. If I could, I would live at the gym. It’s not because I love working out, it’s just because that’s how important working out is. You must do it every day to maintain normal function in your body. Once you let yourself go, that’s when you start to age.
