Holidays? 🤔

I wonder how the holidays are going to be this year? Do you think people are going to be getting together like they usually do? 

I'm sure all the holiday parties are cancelled, along with the craft fairs and festivals. Usually, this is the time of year I say get ready to for all the junk food! But unless you are going to have a solo feast then we may survive the holidays without too much damage or temptation. 

Even if you do have a few get togethers, don't worry about sticking to the food plan. Everything is in moderation. A few meals off the plan will not sabotage your health.

Older and Better ⏳

Breath of Fresh Air 🌅

It feels nice to be able to breathe again! 

The gyms are open, the air is clean and fall starts tomorrow! Who knows how are the holidays are going to be. We will just have to wait and see. 

But please do not give up on your health 🙏 Your health is the most important thing that you have. Without your health you can't work, be there for your family or do anything. 

Unfortunately, health is the one thing money can't buy. Once you lose it, it's gone. Life is too short as it is. Don't waste your life by letting your health go. It's real easy making excuses to be lazy or eat horrible food because of the environment we are currently in. You have to hold strong and never give up! Keep up your routine, you can do this!

Beware of the Air 💨☢️☠️

I hope everyone is breathing okay in all this smokey air! The best thing to do is just stay indoors with an air purifier. When the air quality is this bad it can do some serious damage to your lungs. 

I'm so happy the gyms are open again! Now is the the time to get back into your exercise routine if you haven't already. I think the best time to work out is first thing in the morning. The gyms are usually relatively empty and it's better for your body to workout on an empty stomach. Some people think that if they take something before weight training, like a "pre-workout" drink, then they will perform better. This is not true. Your body will function just fine without any supplements or food before your workout. I've experimented with this many times and I've actually been stronger on an empty stomach. 

The food plan is still going strong. Eating your carbs separate from your fats is the way to go. You actually don't have to eat any carbs at all, but I do after I workout in the morning to help replenish my glycogen storages. It works for me but maybe not for you. You have to see how your body responds.

Gone with the Wind 💨

Wow, this summer sure has flown by and it's going out with some record breaking heat! It's mind boggling to think that fall is only 2 weeks away 😲

I hope everyone is back on track doing your health right everyday the right way. I know I'm pushing forward and staying consistent with the Chiropractic Lifestyle. If you keep doing what I'm doing, you will be healthy too!

My workouts are getting better and better. I'm not getting any younger, but I am stronger now and in better shape than I've ever been in my entire life. I attribute my entire health to living the Chiropractic Lifestyle. 

I'm in much better shape, stronger and have lower body fat then people half my age. My health and fitness levels are easily better than 90% of the population. If I compare myself to other people in my age group it's more like 98%. 

I'm nothing special. I'm just following the plan just like I teach you all to do. The formula is simple and it works. When you do the right things on a regular basis being healthy is not special it's normal. 

Our bodies are made to last a lifetime and most people are made to live at least 100 years. The one thing we do have relative control over is the quality of those years we are alive. If you live the Chiropractic Lifestyle and use me as your mentor, coach and example, you will enjoy life with optimal function every day you are alive. 💯

Out of the Woods 🌲🙌

Save the Mountains 🙏

I hope all the fires are controlled and extinguished as soon as possible! I'm especially sad for the small community of SLV where I grew up. I know several people who still live there and a few have lost everything in the fires. 

I know this year has been one of the worst in my life time. Just one thing after another. It's so strange how all these things can happen in one year. I wish things will get better soon and life will get back to normal. 

Well, please be safe out there and definitely do not go outside for too long because the air quality is really bad. I would recommend not doing any kind of cardiovascular exercise outside and maybe avoid doing it inside as well unless you have a good air filter.

The Heat is On 🌞

Heat wave city! Now I have an idea what it's like to live in Arizona. I'm glad it's not this hot all the time. There's a reason why we spend so much money to live in the bay area. 

I hope everyone had a great week living the healthy Chiropractic Lifestyle! I'm finally back on my morning workout routine. I found an outdoor gym that has all the equipment I need and a swimming pool. I haven't done cardio in about 5 months but I'm still just as lean if not leaner. 

The key with maintaining a lean body composition is all in the food plan. If you eat like I teach and time your carb intake accordingly, you will stay as lean as you like.

Your Spine is Your Lifeline ⚡

I hope everyone had a great week living the Chiropractic Lifestyle. Life is really awesome when you are healthy and feeling good. The secret to good health is found in a lifestyle. I've tried all different types of living and I can tell you that the Chiropractic Lifestyle is the best way to live. 

Remember the 3 elements of the Chiropractic Lifestyle are: 1. Spine Care 2. Healthy Food Intake 3. Regular Exercise. There are so many other things you can add to the mix but these 3 things are the foundation. 

One part of the Chiropractic Lifestyle some people get confused about is Spine Care. Some people think that if their spine feels good then what is there to do? Well, do you only take care of your teeth only when they hurt? Do you decide one day, "oh my my teeth are a little sore I better go brush and floss"? Of course not, that would be crazy! But unfortunately that's how most people think about their spine. If it doesn't hurt, it must be fine. 

Well, your spine is just like your teeth but far more important and the bad news is that you can't get a new spine. Once you lose your spine health, it's gone for good. Your spine, just like your teeth, requires regular maintenance or care. 

A really cool way to remember what to do to practice regular Spine Care is to simply remember that you must maintain M.A.S. in your spine; M=Mobility, A=Alignment, S=Strength. 

Mobility means you must keep your spine moving by stretching, foam rolling and getting adjusted. 

Alignment means you must keep good posture or spinal alignment. When you're standing, sitting, working on the computer or hunching over your phone all day these activities or abnormal postures stress and strain your spine and literally pulls your spine out of alignment. As you do this everyday this causes accumulative stress on the spine leading to inflammation, loss of motion, pain, spinal degeneration and arthritis. 

Strength means exercising the muscles that hold your spine in alignment. Basically, your must strengthen the back muscles and stretch the front muscles on a regular basis. 

When you practice regular Spine Care not only do you feel better and experience optimal bodily function but a healthy spine is directly related to your overall health and longevity.
