Life Experiment 🤓

Healthy habits every day accumulate and result in a healthy life. Maintaining function, self-efficacy, and mental capacity is the key to optimal function as we age. The earlier in life you begin a healthy lifestyle, and understand the importance of lifestyle on health, the better off you will be.

This week Rib Eyes are on sell and lunch has been delicious. I should buy a big deep freezer so I can stock up. But as I have mentioned before, changing the cut of meat I eat helps create diversity in my eating. Ironically, a lot of the relatively cheaper cuts of meat are more delicious. I think the more fat a steak has marbled in it, then the juicier and tastier it is.

I definitely don’t get sick of eating eggs every day, and I prefer my eggs scrambled with cheese; instead of hardboiled like I used to eat them. Scrambled eggs are a lot easier to prepare as well. I’m all about making things easy and sustainable. If you make things too complicated then this can be a reason to quit.

Workouts are going strong and steady. I’ve been doing cardio every day now before I work out and I like this a lot better.

I can’t believe how fast September went by. This entire year seems to be in fast-forward. I’ve been doing a lot of reading and studying every day so that’s probably why time is going by so fast for me.

Stay strong and healthy, and have a great week!

Successful Repetition 🏋️

Day in and Day out, you must make your healthy habits a lifestyle. The Chiropractic Lifestyle embraces the fundamentals of health and makes daily practice a routine of existing.

Staying healthy and being healthy is really easy. Just apply the basics each and every day and this way you can maintain your autonomy and self-efficacy. The hardest part is getting started. Once you get used to a new way of living the rest is easy.

I’ve been seriously committed to teaching people the Chiropractic Lifestyle by leading by example. I actually practice everything that I teach so I can be a living example of how to do it. This way you can see that it really works and I’m loving life in the process. I don’t have gifted genetics or a fast metabolism. I’ve been 265lbs over 11 years ago, so I know what it is like to be unhealthy and on the verge of being dependent on the medical system. But if it weren’t for the Chiropractic Lifestyle, I would not be where I’m at today.

You must understand and assimilate this salient information that I succinctly explain every week in writing and in practice. If I can keep doing this and stay healthy, so can you!

Semper Fidelis my friends.

Plan, Do, Study, Act ⏳

Workout, eat, work, sleep, and repeat. This is my life these days. I haven’t been doing too many hobbies like I use to do; primarily because everything closed down. So now I just focus on personal improvement through continuing education. I’ve literally been knee-deep in the books for the past year and a half. Your brain is like a muscle, the more you stimulate your brain the better, strong, and smarter it becomes. I feel like I’m better at memorizing and remembering information now than when I was in college 30 years ago. I think learning new information and being a lifelong learner is a lot better than staring at a television every day.

The workouts are going great. I love getting up at 5 am and hitting the gym every day. There’s hardly anyone there and I have plenty of time to get my workout done. I usually go to bed at around 10 pm and I always wake up feeling amazing.

This last week I discovered a new cut of beef called Chuck Eye and it is so delicious. It’s tender and juicy just like a Rib Eye. I just pan fry it up on my grill, 6 minutes on each side, and it’s done. The time I cook my beef is variable depending on the thickness and cut of beef. I usually like my meat medium-well. I follow a couple of people on IG that actually eat their meat raw. I personally don’t care how good it is to eat raw meat, I just would not like the taste or texture.

I hope everyone has a fantastic week! Keep living your dreams and enjoy your freedoms while they last.

Good Times, Good Life 🤠

Happy Labor Day weekend! I hope you are having fun in the sun. The weather has been amazing ☀️

If you love BBQ then it’s easy sticking with the Chiropractic Lifestyle. Just eat the meat and skip the sugary sauce. It seems like after not eating sugar for a while you lose your taste for it. However, if you add honey to your food plan then you will satisfy your sugar cravings. I actually only consume honey on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Otherwise, I just do my shake in the morning.

The workouts are going strong and consistent. Eventually, you reach a certain point in your fitness regime where you are just maintaining. This is the sweet spot you want to reach. It’s a whole lot easier maintaining than the ups and downs of getting fat and lean. I have some bodybuilder friends that do this. They eat a bunch of food trying to get huge, then suffer for 16 weeks trying to lose the fat to get lean. Definitely not fun. Unless you are doing it for a living, I don’t think it’s worth the discomfort.

Be safe out there and enjoy life!

Where's the Beef? 🥩

Hello, I hope everyone had a fantastic week staying alive and healthy! If you have your health and freedom life is all good.

So, this week we have tri-tip on sale. After eating New York’s for over a week it’s nice to change up the texture and flavor of my meat. The tri-tip is definitely a fattier cut and it seems to be a bit juicier than the New York. I've been waiting for the Flat Irons to go on sale because ironically the Flat Irons are more expensive than the normal prices for New York and Rib Eye. I talked with the butcher at FoodMaxx the other day and he said the reason why is that they get their New Yorks and Rib Eye from Mexico and they get their Flat Iron from Canada. So apparently meat prices from Canada are ridiculous.

I’m really loving these early morning workouts. If you can fit morning workouts into your schedule, I highly recommend them. Like today I finished a chest and back workout, did 30 minutes of cardio, took a shower, hung out on my inversion table for 10 minutes, drank my power smoothie, and did my laundry for the week. I finished all that by 9:30 am. That gave me about 30 minutes to sip on some tea and treat my first patient at 10 am.

Well, I hope everyone has a fantastic week. Take care of yourself and make self-care a priority.

Seize the Day 🌻

Wow, a week sure has gone by fast! I almost forgot to post up on my blog here. All this smoke must be getting to my brain. I’m usually inside all day helping people with spine care but I like to have the windows open to keep the fresh air blowing in. I hope all the people are doing okay that are being affected by the fires. It was devasting last year when we were affected here locally.

I’ve been hitting the gym a bit earlier now. So instead of going at 6:30 am I start at 5:30 am. It’s great because it gives me plenty of time to get through my workout, do my cardio, and take a shower. I’m usually able to get back to work before 8 am. When I was younger, I remember feeling tired waking up in the mornings, but now I just feel amazing. I usually go to bed at around 10 pm and I wake up without an alarm clock.

The food plan is going very well and I’m still enjoying those New York steaks on sale at FoodMaxx. The cut is definitely not as tender and juicy as the Rib Eyes but a little bit better than the Tri-Tip. I’m sure next week the Tri Tips will be on sale.

For some reason, the frozen fruit has been slacking at FoodMaxx. I usually get the frozen mangos but I haven’t seen them in a few weeks. It must be due to Covid. So I’ve been doing the blueberries and strawberries instead.

I’ve also been doing a spoon full of raw honey every morning with my shake. I buy my honey online from North Dakota. It is so delicious. I’ve tried several varieties and this one is the best for my tastes. It’s called “TJO Bees”.

Well, keep up the good work and stay positive. Remember every day you are alive and healthy is a gift.

Happy Friday the 13th 🔪

I hope everyone had another great week of health and happiness!

I’m loving my workout routine and food plan.

Last week ribeyes were on sale and this week new yorks are on sale. I think ribeyes are a little more juicer but new yorks aren’t too bad.

The only thing that sucks about the gym right now is having to wear a mask. This is especially cumbersome when doing cardio. But at least the gym is still open 🙏

Keep On Truckin ⛽

Happy August! Who’s ready for Halloween? 🤣

I switched up my weight training workouts a little bit. Now, I train chest and back on the same day and I superset back and forth. So instead of resting in between sets, I will just do another exercise; like I will do bench press and then pulldowns together. I also do this with my arm workouts. I still train my shoulders and legs on separate days. I train every morning with no days off and this is my training split over a four-day period: chest and back; shoulders; arms; legs and calves. I do cardio after each workout except for leg days.

I think the best time to work out is first thing in the morning. This way you know it will get done and it’s the best way to start your day.

After I workout I drink my fruit smoothie protein shake and drink green tea until it’s time for lunch. I get really full after lunch and that’s all I eat for the rest of the day. I’m never hungry at night, I feel amazing all day, and I’m never tired.

Well, I hope everyone has a fantastic week!

Doing The Right Things ⭐

Hello 🖐🏼 I hope you’re doing well!

I’m sticking with the Chiropractic Lifestyle and leading by example!

When I was at the gym this morning, I was doing the math and I have been exercising now for 39 years! I never plan on stopping either 😉

I admit, when I was younger, I started working out to look good. I definitely still want to look good, but the main motivation that keeps me going is functional maintenance. The older you get, the more you realize how important it is to maintain self-efficacy and autonomy.

Science says that people have a life expectancy of 79 years and a life span of 122 years. Your ability to function normally as you age is directly related to your lifestyle. For instance, if you don’t exercise you will experience muscle atrophy, weakness, and loss of endurance. Just these three things can have a tremendous impact on the quality of your life.

It is impossible to know how long you will live, because no one can predict the unexpected, but we are in control of how well we live.

The other reason why I keep going at it, and living the Chiropractic Lifestyle, is so I can help as many people as possible experience good health for as long as possible, and not have to suffer the last 10, 20, or 30 years of life.

What I’m doing is working and my health has never been better. Life is full of choices, and if I were you, I would be modeling the person who is living the life they are teaching 🤓

Day In & Day Out 🌞

I hope everyone had a great week living that healthy life!

My week was fantastic! I didn’t have any major changes. My food plan was amazing as always and my workouts were awesome.

If you haven’t started working out in the morning, you have got to try it. It feels so good getting the workout done first thing in the morning. Now, I never said workouts FEEL good, because if it does, then you are not doing it right. The only thing about working out that feels good is when you’re done with it! This is why it’s called a “workout”, because it’s work, not entertainment.

You must put in the work every day to stay healthy and maintain health. Your goal and motivation to keep working out should be to stay out of the nursing home!

Yes, it is possible to stay healthy with full function until the day you die. The best predictor of your future is the work you put in today.

Keep using me as your motivation and wellness coach. There is nothing special about me. If I start slacking and falling off the plan, my health starts to fail as well. I’m just an average human following the right plan.

Healthy Choices Shape Health 😀

Getting healthy and staying healthy is really easy if you have a plan. I have tried many different things in life and I have found that the Chiropractic Lifestyle is the easiest and healthiest way to live your life. Just follow my lead and experience good health.

The first step is getting your food plan right. I’ve laid out a basic food plan that works and is really simple to integrate into your life. The amount of food you eat may fluctuate but the general outline of how to eat should be similar.

Exercise is key to keep lean muscle, maintain strong bones, and improve well-being. Exercise is also really important for cardiovascular health. When your muscles contract this helps circulate your blood throughout your body and helps maintain a healthy lymphatic circulation.

One of the most salient aspects of the Chiropractic Lifestyle is Spine Care. You must maintain spinal alignment, mobility, and strength as you age. Studies have shown that 40% of deaths and injuries in the elderly population are due to falls. People will usually fall because of loss of mobility, balance issues, visual problems, and many other possible reasons.

However, we can help ourselves prevent falls by maintaining spinal mobility. All movement originates from the spine. If the spine is not moving normally then it affects all movements. Spine mobility and alignment have a lot to do with balance and proprioception.

Keeping things simple and doing what needs to be done is the secret to a healthy life with normal function. The things you do now on a regular basis will dictate your independence and ability to function as you age. You must make your health a priority now.
